A mini-science lesson or a fun activity? BOTH! This sticky substance can act like a solid and a liquid within your hands. This is one of the first science experiments I did as a teacher with my students and now continue to do this activity with my own kids teaching the different states of matter and measurements.
If you’re doing this with young kids be prepared for a little bit of a mess! I put a large piece of cardboard down so clean up was a breeze.

Ingredients:

2 Cups Cornstarch
1 Cup Water
Food Coloring (optional)
Glitter (optional)

Add two cups of cornstarch to a large container.

Then add one cup of water. I like to have the water already dyed in a squirt bottle so my son can focus on where he needs to stop to get the correct measurements.

Next, I let those little hands mix away and explore!

They loved watching it go through their hands!

Add some fun toys or blocks and let them PLAY!
