Whether you’re new to the area, a first time mom, a mom to many, work full-time, part-time, or stay home, finding outside support can be challenging if you don’t know what’s out there. Fortunately, I was introduced to a group early on to staying at home with my children. Within the group I was able to join playgroups, tour businesses and organizations, go on field-trips ask seasoned mothers questions about parenthood and join friends out on coffee and dinner dates! If you’re wanting to make those connection, Central Wisconsin has many groups for moms to look into. Check them out!
MOMS Club (Moms Offering Moms Support)
(From MOMS Club International) We are a support group designed just for you, the at-home mother! You are interested in the world around you, want a variety of activities for you and your children, and are proud of your choice of at-home mothering for your families!
MOMS Club of Wausau
MOMS Club of Stevens Point
New moms meet with a nurse and ask questions, get the baby weighed and talk with other new moms.
Portage County Breastfeeding Coalition-Stevens Point
Meet and share your experiences with other new moms in our mother and baby support group. Led by a Registered Nurse/Lactation Consultant. A different topic will be discussed every week. Bring your baby (newborn to 6 months of age). A scale will be provided to weigh your baby. FREE – no registration required.
Moms and Tots-Wausau
(From Moms & Tots-Trinity) Moms & Tots is a wonderful way to spend quality time with your infant, toddler, and/or preschooler while also having the opportunity to meet other adults in a Christian environment. The morning starts with stories and songs in the lower nursery and then move to the Bethany room for crafts and snacks. We end the morning by burning off a little energy in the gym and close with prayer. Whether you’re a Trinity member or non-member, a parent or a grandparent, join us.
Circle of Moms Breastfeeding Support Group-Marshfield Medical Center
Circle of Moms will meet weekly in the Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital Wellness Center Yoga room on Thursdays starting June 11th from 10:00-11:00 AM. Short education topics will be provided to begin each session followed by mother-to-mother sharing and peer and professional support. Snacks will be provided along with a scale to weigh your baby.
MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers)
(From MOPS International)Here at MOPS, we gather moms. We believe in the simple but revolutionary idea that remarkable things happen when moms come together. That’s why we rally women, in their own neighborhoods, to help them become more brave, kind and honest, one gathering at a time.
So, whether you are a soon-to-be mom, first-time mom or seventh-time mom, you are welcome here. Whether you are an adoptive mom, young mom, seasoned mom, foster mom, stepmom or any other type of mom, you are welcome here. Whether you prefer to meet with other moms in a coffee shop, church, park, living room or video chat, we have something for you.
